Cairo for Investment and Development (CID) is an incorporated Industrial Investment and Development Company. CID is the owner, developer and manager of the Eco-Industrial Robbiki Leather Cluster.
The company aims to manage existing assets amounting to a value of 6billion EGP across the cluster, while increasing return(s) in a sustainable manner, in accordance with the government’s vision and strategy.
Vision
The company operates with a vision to be the most profound industrial cluster developer in Middle East and Africa; with specific focus on leather sector.
Mission
To develop Robbiki Leather Cluster as the regional leather hub for the Middle East and Africa, covering the value chain of leather industry (from raw hides to finished products) while facilitating for intermediate industries and services to enter the city and support its development.
To have Robbiki Leather Cluster as the platform for finished leather products industry upgrade and vertical expansion.
To identify and develop needed policies and action plans to enhance and facilitate business environment within the cluster, such as policies for vocational training and investment incentives.
Shareholders and Management
CID cooperates and partners with various actors within the Egyptian economy. CID works through a multistakeholder framework, cooperating with actors and institutions within Egypt, such as the Cairo Governorate and the National Investment Bank, alongside international organisations, as it aims to realize its mission and vision.
The main shareholders of the company are the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Cairo Governorate, and the Ministry of Finance. However, the Management of the company is totally separate from the shareholders. The company and day to day business are run in accordance with the private sector laws in Egypt.
